I just want to say something about you messaging me, a porn star. The thing is I’m not sure I am technically a porn star. A Porn star to me is somebody who gets paid to have sex on camera. They are usually having sex with strangers, other porn stars, and are filmed by a crew on a sterile film set. The material is owned by a production company and the porn stars are paid a one off salary, then they move on to the next job. Whereas what I do is quite a bit different. I act out scenarios on my own in my house with my camera. I tell stories and pretend to be other people to tell those stories. It’s just me and my camcorder, no crew, no production company. Old scenes of me performing with a man were with my former partner, not a stranger, and again it was just us and my camera, (similar to sex-tapes made public) but I haven’t even done scenes like that for many years. What I do is very similar to what actresses do in films at the cinema. They act, they pretend they are having sex, and they use that to tell stories and convince you that what you are watching is real. I am not dissing porn stars, I have met many and they can be very nice people, who work very hard in difficult circumstances. The thing is I just couldn’t do what they do, I would be too intimidated and unable to perform or produce any form of credible acting with so many strangers around me. It’s incredible what they are able to do. I also couldn’t do mainstream acting, for the same reasons. For me to deliver credible, believable performances, I have to be alone and become one with the character. I couldn’t do that if I have a bunch of guys watching me holding lights etc. It’s just too far from reality for me to be able to believe it. So anyway, I get naked on camera, and I pretend, and I entertain. I don’t think nudity is harmful in anyway to anybody, and simulating sex and pretending to be a character is just a form of performance art that I am comfortable with. I like to project reality and erotically stimulate with that reality, and hopefully take people on exciting and rewarding journeys. I hope all of that makes sense. Either way, I’m sure your Mum still wouldn’t approve.
